a favorite meal.

*

we love good food and since life is too short to eat bad food, we try to take care and prepare our evening meals with thought. one of our favorite meals consists of a great salad, bit of sweet potato, sweet peppers & korean bbq beef (grilled).

beginning with salad ..
into my favorite tattered wooden bowl goes a mix of spring greens and arugula. chop up a couple oranges, some scallions, cilantro, spicy sweet pecans, and a good turn of fresh cracked pepper. i used brianna's blush wine vinaigrette for the dressing. you could always add a small chunk of goat cheese to each serving once the salad is plated. we chose no cheese with this meal.

the hubs and i shared a sweet potato. he got 2/3 and i got the remaining 1/3. no butter. just a tiny turn of the salt mill and a good turn of pepper. alongside the sweet potato was grilled sweet peppers and korean bbq beef. i bought a package of the pre-marinated beef at trader joe's. it's delicious. here's a picture..

great meal.
even better company.
besides, he's the grill master.

  6. deanna .. alice waters (chef & author) wrote a book entitled "the art of simple food." one of her quotes i appreciate is as follows:

"When you have the best and tastiest ingredients, you can cook very simply and the food will be extraordinary because it tastes like what it is."

    novel concept... wink.
