sage thought & a rat.

“The real things haven't changed. It is still best to be honest and truthful; to make the most of what we have; to be happy with simple pleasures; and have courage when things go wrong.”
                                                                                                                       ― Laura Ingalls Wilder

when our daughter was in 2nd grade we took an entire school year to read all of Laura Ingalls Wilder's little house books. we homeschooled so that provided ample opportunity for evening reading .. for "just one more chapter..please?!"

we made recipes from the little house books and crafts and play acted. one day we enjoyed a fun picnic out at the country home of another homeschool family and our girlie dressed up like laura.

and at that time we had a white lab named katie, and a taupe toned rat named fidget. katie snoozed while we took turns reading, and fidget would snuggle in the crook of my neck.
family reading..
daddy, mommy, sweet girlie of ours,
our dog, and our rat

and life was good. grand, actually.
oooh to turn back time.

love,
sherry

p.s. girl rats make sweet pets. more on fidget later.

“I will seek what was lost and bring back what was driven away, bind up the broken and strengthen what was sick; but I will destroy the fat and the strong, and feed them in judgment.” (Ezekiel 34:16)
