up with the birds.

i've no idea where i found this adorable picture of birds eating someone's breakfast .. perhaps pinterest? facebook? sweet bloggie site? regardless, i dearly love it and am using it here. hoping the picture checkers have mercy in my neglect in not citing the source.

after a restless night of a goldilocks routine trying this bed and that, the couch, and finally back to the guest bed for fitful sleep, i woke up before the birds . you see, i have a pain in my neck and it's pesky and i'm not liking it one iota. nosiree.

coffee was strong. needful.
cuddles with the pooch. plentiful.

corporate suits are at my husband's place of employment today so he's out for dinner this evening with the big boys. that means i don't have to cook. and that makes me secretly happy. sometimes.

hotter than hades in these parts with plenty of fires in the hills and byways and fields. they say (whoever they are) the winter rains should be heavier than usual, even more than 1997 which incurred major flooding, damage, and even loss of life. hoping they're wrong but we sure need the rain. until then, please send water. we need it.

truth be told, except for a couple loads of laundry and basic, simple homekeeping, i've been a sloth today. and rather enjoying it. so there.

  2. So truly sorry you are down with a pain in your neck. I know what that is like and it is no fun at all. Praying for a quick recovery and for your dear friends as they mourn their loss.

  4. Sloth...good word for a hot, lazy summer day. I also have sloth days (even in winter, haha!). I also have pottering days...doing this and that around the house. Oh, and I like "jammie days" too. :)

Sorry to hear you're in pain. Get better soon!
