rainy day tuesday..& a prayer request.

at 4:07am we dragged ourselves out of a cozy warm bed to shower, don clothes, and skidaddle to the airport. my darling man headed to corporate for a bit. it was raining fairly hard and even though i drive a tank, enough folks choosing dangerous speeds on the highway caused me to feel a good bit of apprehension about driving home after dropping my love at the curb. but home i drove .. and was met with happy slobbery kisses from the precious pooch. i made a cup of liquid life and settled in with the fur girl while i savored the dark blend.

i worked at the shop 3 days straight and was to pop in this morning for a bit to buy some ASCP paint for a project but the weather prohibited me from venturing out .. so home i stayed.

the rain. a sideways and every which way force of nature along with 45mph winds. storms cause evelyn the pooch a fair amount of anxiety. she stayed close, sometimes shaking as the winds blew loud, lights flickered, and rain pelted the windows.  early this evening when the storm let up i cleared some of the smaller branches from the back yard .. leaving the biggest for my guy to take care of when he returns.

at 3pm i fed evelyn and made myself another cup of coffee - this one to be enjoyed while reading, with the hopes of a wee nap.
the nap didn't happen but the coffee was fantastic.

my sister shirley .. her husband {ron}is in the hospital. having been troubled with a deep bone infection after surgery two years past, he has been on special antibiotics off and on for those two years. the infection is back with a vengeance. so in the hospital he went .. an MRI was done and they're waiting to learn of the results. as you can well imagine, the stress involved is at a high .. please, pray for healing, but also for wisdom, strength, and peace, and every thing lovely for this sweet couple.
i thank you in advance ...

with love,

Having recently been praying for a "Ron" (Cheryl's husband at Thinking About Home), it will be easy to remember to pray for your sister's husband. You might find reading Thinking About Home very helpful in this regard. And would you believe that my cousin, also a Ron, is fighting for his life in Ohio after a heart infection. I'm just going to lift each one of them!

Yes, dear friend - I will pray for Ron and for Shirley. And the family. Hoping you can venture out to retrieve the paint and supplies for your project while you man is away.

I'll be praying too, Sherry! And for your cousin, Vee.

We are expect a big snow storm this Friday and Saturday. Need to do a bit of prep for that.

Sherry, just said a prayer for your sister's husband. I'm so sorry they're going through this. I love how you call coffee 'liquid life.' That's so funny to me because I LOVE LOVE coffee. Am sipping on it right now. :) This quote today, it's beautiful. I will write that one down.

Try not to worry about the winds and the storms. God's right there with us through them. :)

Rainy days are nice, but not with 45 MPH winds! Soft, gentle rain on a tin roof would be my choice. So sorry about your brother-in-law. Lifting up prayers for healing, peace and so much more. Hugs, Nancy P.S. Stay safe!

Sherry, thank you so much for your encouraging words over at Thinking About Home. I am happy that Vee sent you to visit!

And, yes indeed, I will pray for your brother-in-law Ron, for I know too well all of the crazy things that can happen when infection rears its ugly head. May the Lord grant healing and strength and stamina and help!

P.S. I am also a big fan of "liquid life"!
