table for 2.

and so it was decided in conversation of taking a step back from hosting a table of folks for thanksgiving.. instead, we'll spend the day just the two of us plus pooch enjoying a picnic at the coast or have a simple and somewhat traditional meal here at home. regardless, we'll be together, be it on a sandy beach or within the cozy warmth of our 4 walls.

hoping your thanksgiving celebration will be full to overflowing in love.

blessings,
sherry

  1. We will have my daughter-in-law's family here again this year but they bring part of the food and help with cleanup. It is Christmas we spend alone and I don't mind it at all. The New England kids are too far away and we agreed from the beginning that Christopher and his wife would spend Christmas Day with her family.

They have to travel about an hour so they stay at least overnight. Since they live less than two miles from us, we celebrate on Christmas Eve. By Christmas Day, I'm ready for leftovers and a couple good movies! Have a very blessed Thanksgiving. I'm praying for you and yours, my friend.

  3. Sometimes small get togethers are the nicest ones. I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving, Sherry. Jess and her new husband will be making the dinner this year, and I only have to make the pumpkin pies. I'm ok with that. :)

do you use a special recipe for your pumpkin pie?

    2. I just follow the ingredients on the Libby's can of pumpkin. I buy the pies from the frozen section, and go from there. And I use Redi-whip for the topping because I like it the best. :)

    3. Oooops, made some spelling errors on last comment.

It's Reddi wip and Libby's 100% pure pumpkin.

They are very easy to make. :)

  4. That's a good decision, dear friend. I wish we two were going to the coast but that can happen another year. It will be a small, simple meal with my dear, little mother. Later in the day perhaps a joyful celebration with grandkids. Or not. No matter - it will be right. Happy Thanksgiving!

  5. Sherry, I too have cut the invitation list. Too much stress...So, a traditional meal for just 4 people and 2 pups. Take care.

  6. There is a time for guests and reaching out and a happy hum of activity. And there is a time for quiet celebration and rest and reflection. Both can be beautiful...at the right time. May your day be filled with blessing and thanksgiving!!

  8. Our Thanksgiving is different this year. We are away from home and our going out to eat! Crazy! But it is what it is. I am thankful to be with Tim's sweet mama, and my parents and some of my kids and 2 grands. We have so much to be thankful for.

Your choices both sound wonderful to me. Whatever you choose, you will have love and joy.
