selfie fail.

cuz nuthin' says class like taking a picture
in the bathroom... sigh.

my ability to capture a larger image
is sorely lacking.

soft focus (non intentional but it's swell)
and my nails look good. it's the little things..

my hair dresser knows for sure.
though it does appear there are two
little dark horns in the middle of my
hairline. what's up with that?!

my personal favorite:
everything's fuzzy 'cept for the lens.
wouldn't it be neato to ensure that
you can only be seen in soft focus?
i love that idea. wink.

.wrinkles, age spots, silver locks.
 .untouched..unREtouched.whatever.

have a lovely day,
sherry

  1. Love your gorgeous greys! I tried going grey a few years ago but I looked awful. What's your secret? Don't say make-up, I hate it, lol!

    1. i went silver about 7 years ago..
it came in w/o any yellowing so i stuck with it.
it was certainly a transition .. had to change the colors
i wore and my makeup a bit though i wear very little.
my *before* color was a deep
chestnut which still shows through along the nape tresses
and most likely will never change. if your silver comes in
yellowy you could always try some brightening shampoos..
i've heard those work rather well. both my parents have white
silver so i knew my chances were good to follow in the steps..

    3. hi sue... a few years back i went with hubby on a business trip. the hotel we stayed at had sample sizes of giovanni shampoo & cream rinse on the sink basin. i ♥'d it! came home and bought it on amazon at a high price (gulp) then about 3 months later found it at TJ-Maxx for $12.99 for a big bottle. grabbed 'em. a little goes a long way so i find it actually economical for my needs. even with long hair. one bottle lasts me 3-4 months. here's an amazon link (at $29.99..ouch) so you can see the picture .. then skidaddle over to TJ-Maxx (hoping you have one in your area) and buy it at a discount. ♥ https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00EUMSN58/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1

  7. I stopped coloring about 5 years ago. No regrets. I yam what I yam? When I stopped many of my friends did too. Now we have all kinds of time unhindered by beauty shop appts. One friend has been obstinate and has her hair and eyebrows dyed twice a month to avoid 'the ROOTS'. I keep telling her that nobody thinks her hair isn't silver. It's those little wrinkles and crevices I am fighting tooth and nail. I gave up on nails years ago. Mine look like I use them for tools which is exactly what I do. There is something very freeing in finally realizing I've lost the battle with youth and I can enjoy being considered 'wise' and 'experienced'. Well at least I think I am! :D

  8. Oh, these selfies are great, Sherry. I'm not very good at taking them. My favorite would have to be that first pic because it shows your grey hair and your sweet smile. :) But the one on your side bar is so cute too.

  9. Tried the Amazon number, but there was no page. Can you give the name of the Giovanni Shampoo and size please? I sometimes have yellow appear in my white! Thanks.

  13. Hi,
I read your blog off and on. I think of you often, because I know you are in pain, caused by your daughter's absence. You are a very beautiful soul. She can't let that go indefinitely. She will be back. She can't keep missing out on what is real.
