11 April 2018

time has a way of taking forever
for things .. or pie .. to be able
to pick and bake and eat.

peaches, for instance.
you see the blooms in march
and the wait begins
to see fruit.

you ooh and aah
and keep a keen eye
on the fruit growth
and if any pests
are making
if they
are they're

then the day far off is here
come august
and you can roll dough
and fill it with wonderfulness
fresh picked from the tree
steps from the kitchen.

but that day is not here
as we're barely making april
a reality much less august.
patience dear.

i need pie.
{need being the operative
yet highly debatable word}

I didn't "need" pie until I saw your photo of mouth-watering goodness. And now I do.

me too. i still do this morning and it's barely 4am.
when the hubs and i come your way one day (year)
we'll ensure there's pie and plenty of it to share. ;)

Oh, my - I think I can almost imagine the aroma when you bake peach pies. And the flavor! Swoon. I'd love to be at your home when you take them out of the oven. Until then - I'll just imagine!

... that could be arranged. ;)

That is one good looking peach pie. How wonderful that you have a peach tree. I bet you're looking forward to making a pie this summer. Oh, how I love peach pie too, Sherry. ; )

it's a dwarf peach tree that awards us enough peaches to make 2 pies. if we're lucky. depending on the year. i'm always on the lookout for critters wanting a bite before the hubs and i sink into the fruit. grrr. ;)
