wisdom from the fairy grocery queen.

while at trader joe's checking off items on my grocery list and organizing said items in my cart just so, a woman to my right asked if i'd ever tried the prepared chicken salad.

i had tried the one she showed me and without blinking i took it from her, put it back on the shelf, and handed her the chicken salad i like better and i'm sure she will too...and said as much.

i think i said,
"you'll love it and will want to thank me later."

then, i once again saw her perusing the chips, popcorn, and crackers aisle. i grabbed a bag of carmel corn, dropped it in her basket and said, "you'll love it and will want to thank me later. pinky promise."

what a plucky thing for me to have done!
but you know what?
i'll bet she'll want to thank me later

Okay, share the one you like best at TJ's and I'll give it a try. I usually make my own but don't always like it! Caramel corn - yum! Have missed you lots; glad you're back!

I love Trader Joes! But I must admit I have never tried their chicken salad. Chicken salad is one of my favorite comfort foods, and I pretty much try it at every restaurant or tea room I go to. I will have to try Trader Joes, too, because the fairy grocery queen suggested it.

hi sweet friend..
it's the basic chicken salad (green label)
in the refrigerated section at tj's. will
need to take a picture for exact reference.
and that caramel corn? a hUge 6 smartypants
points on ww per 3/4 cup. yipes. but SO
worth it!

I am so glad you're back! I never comment (yeah, I'm one of 'those') but seriously, I just now began breathing again. Mindy

ahh but once i realized the audacity of my actions i'm sure my skin turned 5 shades of pink - - and it wasn't due to hot flash. or maybe so. i'm not telling. ♥

mindy... ♥
you just made my day.
hugs. do you have a blog?
a dog? a good recipe using
horse radish? hoping so
to at least one of those things.... ;)

Alas, no blog. I'm too old to figure it out. But yes to the dog, a very spoiled Jack Russell/chi...but we don't care if she's spoiled. She was a rescue and her life before us was not good at all so we figure she should live it up now.

Horseradish now...hmmm. I used to mix it with mayo and spread it on fish before baking. That was prior to WW. Now it's yogurt and horseradish. Good, but not quite the same. And have you added it to deviled eggs, along with dill and (again) yogurt? Good, but not quite the same. Oh wait, I already said that. Mindy

I will try some of the caramel corn next time I'm at Trader Joe's. I can comment on the pop-up comments, yaaaay. : )

Have a wonderful week, Sherry.

Thanks, Sherry. I just talked to a blog friend, and she said some of her friends have changed to pop-up comments as well. I have a guy coming in to clean the carpets right now, but I will check out your new post later today.

Dear Fairy Grocery Queen - I have TWO TJ's near me. One in each direction. Would you please come and shop with me so I can learn your 'secrets'. Arranging my cart is often a lost art and I would LOVE to know of your bits and pieces of TJ wisdom. And I WILL thank you late. Honest! Pinky Promise.

sheri .. i'm not a fan of the pop-up window
but if it aids in publishing comments, so be it. :)
see you later :)

i'd LOVE to toodle up to your place and go TJ shopping!
could we please stop at homeGoods and maybe a thrift
store or three?! :) as to arranging my cart .. golly
that's just the OCD part of me.
or: CDO - alphabetical as it should be.
